24 May 2015    xco   WorldCup   Tanja   NoveMesto

Tanja had a fantastic start of the race, she was in second behind Jolanda Neff. Problems for Unior's rider began towards the end of the start loop and continued in the first lap. Power came back to the legs and Tanja had two great laps and gained some places. “I did my best in every moment of the race, and show my best physical and technical performance. I had two very good laps in the middle of the race, but I'm disappointed with my finish. Usually I get stronger towards the end, but that didn't happened today,” explains Tanja. She finished in 15th place.

There will be enough time for the analysis in the next hours and days, first thoughts are very mixed, same as was the race. Tanja: “I have very mixed feelings, I’m neither disappointed, neither satisfied. This was as much as I could do today in the given circumstances. I didn’t feel super good this morning, but I know I can go much higher with my current form.”

The race was full of positive things, mostly in the middle part, when Tanja’s times were there with the riders from just behind the podium, and her riding was strong and aggressive – this was seen on the climbs and descents.

Jolanda Neff won the race ahead of Gunn-Rita Dahle Flesjaa. UCI MTB World Cup continues next weekend with cross-country race in Albstadt.
