After great results in North America and great form it was reasonable to expect a better result. But the things on the new XCO track in Val di Sole just didn’t go as planed. Short description of her race is very similar to many others this year: good start, bad first laps, solid finish. She finished the race in 13th and is claimed 12th place overall.
“My desire for a good result was maybe too high. I just had one of those bad days, and I still believe that I’m in better form. Of course I was aiming for the podium, and didn’t get there, final result is what it is. I did my best and battled for every point. Fans also helped me a lot,” said Tanja after the race.
The race on so-called Battle Track was not Tanja’s best, but she keeps the positive thoughts ahead of the upcoming World Championships in Andorra. “This is the last race I had in this season. I can say I was working for this race for the whole season and I can only hope for a better day. I hope all my hard work and energy will pay off there. I promise I will do my best and I want to get as high as possible.”
Annika Langvad won the race in Val di Sole, Jolanda Neff confirmed the overall title.
