The last race ahead of the World Championships in Andorra was important for the last tuning of the bike, body & mind, and both Jure Žabjek and Žiga Pandur did a great job. Jure took the victory ahead of Miran Vauh, Žiga was third.
Jure is also a winner of the Slovenian DH Cup, he won all three events – in both qualies and finals. Last planned race of the cup was cancelled.
Jure Žabjek, 1st place: “Another great weekend! This was my first race on Soriška planina, the track is quite flat on some sections, but I liked it. I had a great run in the finals and the time was fast enough for another victory. I have a big race in the upcoming weekend and I again I want to do well.”
Žiga Pandur, 3rd place: “Last weekend was last race before the World Championships and it was great time to work out some flaws in my riding and racing part. Track by itself wasn't comparable with track in Andorra as it was basic and short. But it was still fun to ride and show support for the local scene, since the organization was very good and lots of people came to watch the race. Results wise there were no expectations. The main thing was to try some new stuff out and learn new things. The result at the end of the day doesn't show the progress but I'm feeling really good and confident for the world champs in the upcoming week.”
