08 September 2016    Reece   Ziga

Just a quick refresh of their seasons. Žiga was on a good way to another set of great results, but everything went wrong in Fort William, where he injured his lounges, ribs and shoulder. Reece skipped first races of the season to recover from his knee injury and surgery, and then got hit again… and again! First in Lenzerheide where he went to a hospital with a massive concussion. After that he almost recovered when he suffered another crash and shoulder injury and story repeated. He was back on the bike and again crashed and injured his ankle.

This is what our riders wrote on their profiles:

"Well that's it... The 2016 World Cup season is over! Unfortunately I finished it how I started, by sitting at home injured. I've learnt a lot from this year, and can't thank all you guys enough for sticking by me through what's been a truly awful year. Thankfully I'm young so I've got no reason to panic. I'm just happy to be going into this off-season (almost) fit. Massive thanks to all!"

"Driving back home from Andorra was time to reflect on the last few months... After all injuries sustained in Fort William there was no real time table for recovery or when I could go back on the bike as everything was based on week-to-week basis. Big desire to race amazing tracks in Andorra and Val di Sole kept me working as hard as possible just to be able to ride the bike in time. Last minute decision was made to race the last few races even not being 100% healthy and with just small amount of time on the bike before races. But hard reality has hit me that the race pace and fitness were still just too far off from where I wanted to be. As a racer I wanted to be the best as I can be and at this moment that's not possible.
So I've decided to skip World Champs this weekend and the next few races to completely recover from injuries and then get ready for next season. Thanks to everyone that supported me and believed in me. See you in 2017!!!"

Get well both of you!! We are counting on you in the 2017 season!
