2016 Fort William will go down in history as one of the best mountain bike races ever! And like all legendary stories this one will also be remembered by good and bad things. Reece did a great comeback on World Cup circuit, Jure did good for his first FW weekend. Ruaridh had a flat, and for Žiga everything went wrong.
For a second week in a row Tanja leaves World Cup venue with disappointment. She didn't find right answer for the demanding track in La Bresse, and 39th place is everything she takes back home. All efforts will now go in direction of Nove Mesto.
40th place is of course a bad result for Tanja Žakelj that still struggles with the form on the World Cup races. She had a good race on the European Champs in Sweden, but today in Germany she just couldn't push harder.
BDS race is always special on its own, BDS weekend in Fort William is on the whole new level, almost like World Cup. UK’s best riders were on the race, among them also Ruaridh and Reece. Ruaridh did especially good, finishing in top-10.
Collection of national titles just got bigger! For Zarja this is 5th elite national title, for Jure 2nd in a row! Team success is even bigger thanks to Žiga’s third place and great results of our Slovenian development team.
Jure Žabjek was 5th, Žiga Pandur was 6th – great results on the opening round of iXS European Cup 2016. Zarja Černilogar was also racing, but with lots of pain in her hand and not such a shiny final result.
