Tanja Žakelj showed her best performance of the season in Andorra – she was 8th on the track that she doesn't like all that much and on the high altitude that is also not in her favor. She again showed that she can still battle for the highest places!
Downhill track in Vallnord proved to be a perfect battleground for the final race of 2016 UCI MTB World Cup season. Both our finalist had a great battle also – they were both fast and they both fell, but both stood up and got to the bottom. Jure was our fastest rider in Andorra – he was 34th!
Jure was defending European DH Champion, so he was in the spotlight on the race in Wisła, on the same race where he won the title one year ago. Race was also important for Žiga, it was his comeback race after the injury the got in Scotland.
Whistler once again hosted biggest gravity MTB festival and Ruaridh was again there. He wasn’t just there, he was racing everything from EWS enduro to Whip-Offs, ending his Canadian tour with 12th place on Canadian Open DH.
Outcome up in the front of the race was decided way before the last lap, but Tanja's race wasn't over till actual crossing of the finish line. She defended 7th place in the sprint with Henderson and got her best result of the season! It couldn't have come in better time!
Ruaridh Cunningham finished 20th on his tenth consecutive Mont-Saine-Anne World Cup. Jure Žabjek was here for the first time ever and finished the race in 60th.
